抗5-甲基色胺酸的突變水稻

以含5-甲基色胺酸的分化培養基培養水稻的花粉癒合組織,得到三棵外形與正常植株不同的水稻。其中兩棵的體細胞癒合組織對5-甲基色胺酸仍然具有抗性,顯示它們是抗5-甲基色胺酸的突變體。另一棵水稻的外形特徵不僅與前兩棵突變體相同,而且自花受粉能栘傳給其後代。因此,推測第三棵水稻也是抗5-甲基色胺酸的突變體。關於這些突變體的細胞內胺基酸含量,它們對5-甲基色胺酸的抗性機制,以及該抗性的遺傳方式,正在進一步研究中。

Cell lines of rice (Oryza sativa L.) resistantto 5-methyltryptophan were selected from pollencalli by culturing them on a medium containingthis analog. Six plants were regenerated fromthe resistant cell lines, but only three survivedand grew to maturity. These plants weremorphologically very similar, but differed fromthe normal plants in a number of characteristics.Callus cultures reinitiated from the somatictissues of two of these plants were resistant to5-methyltryptophan. Callus of the third plantwas not available for test for resistance to theanalog. However, the morphological character-istics of this plant appeared to be transmissiblethrough self-pollination.
