• 中文摘要： 研究直接外人投資之基本理論有二：一?傳統之貿易理論， 一?產業組織理論。前者?調比較利益原則，後者?重寡佔 巿場競爭之特性。比較二種理論可得出一共同推論，?國外投資人具有與地主國不同之技術?直接外人投資之必要條件。因 此直接外人投資必然導致技術移轉。本文乃進一步利用臺灣之資料證實這推論。然而在臺灣的情形存有某些特例。
• 英文摘要： There are two approaches to study direct foreign investment: the traditional trade theory, and the industrial organization theory. The former emphasizes the comparative advantage principle while the latter stresses on the characteristics of oligopolistic competition. Both approaches lead to a conclusion that foreign investor with unique technology is a necessary condition of direct foreign investment. If so, technology transfer follows direct foreign investment. The author used Taiwan's data to test the hypothesis with positive result and minor modifications.
