• 中文摘要： 本研究係以流體動力方程式為基礎，使用數值方法，解出臺灣周圍海域之潮汐起伏變化和潮流情況。對於潮汐動力方程式，可以假定海水為不可壓縮的流體。由於臺灣周圍海域比起世界海洋小得很多，因此整個海域之潮汐現象，皆是由太平洋潮波傳送進來。所以在本模式中，開口邊界潮汐乃是造成模式內部水面起伏之主要因素。我們利用已知的西北太平洋沿岸潮汐調和常數，繪出臺灣周圍海域M2，S2，K1和O1四種主要分潮之等幅圖和同潮圖，由此再推算出模式開口邊界上M2, S2, K1,和O1的調和常數。據此我們可以推算開口邊界之潮汐變化，然後依據本模式推算臺灣周圍海域之潮汐和潮流。本模式計算結果與現有潮汐表比較，甚為符合。本模式之推算已能提供此海域中無驗潮站所在之潮汐和潮流情況，對海洋開發有所助益。
• 英文摘要： A two-dimensional linear model of tides is developed to numerically predict tides in the seas adjacentto Taiwan. On a continental shelf such as the Taiwan Strait, tides from the open ocean control the tidalphenomena within this region. Thus the tidal waves in the model are forced by the tides at the open bound-aries, where the principal MZ，S2，Kl and O1 partial tides are used by means of harmonic method. The computed tides are compared to the observed ones at ten tidal stations around Taiwan. Goodagreement between the calculated and observed tides is obtained. Some calculated tidal hodographs in theseas around Taiwan are depicted.
