- 中文摘要: A qualitative investigation on the characteristics of the surface stress wave ofa fluid saturated porous medium has been made. The characteristic equation whichgoverns the velocity of propagation and the decay of surface wave in such a mediumis derived. In the derivation, the equations of motion and the constitutive relationderived through an attempt the author previous made are used. It has been shownthat the characteristic equation reduces to the usual one for an elastic solid whenporosity is let to approach zero. The existence and the characteristics of Rayleigh-type surface wave in a fluid saturated porous medium are examined and discussed.It is found, in general, that propagation and decay occurs in both the directionalong the free surface and the direction away from the surface into the medium.This is the characteristic of surface wave in a fluid saturated porous medium.
