- 中文摘要: 本報告首次證實絲瓜簇葉病(loofah witches' broom)可經由菟絲子(Cuscuta chinensis Lam.)媒介傳染於長春草(Vinca roses L.)。感染絲瓜簇葉病之病株切片,經Dienes' stain染色後,在篩管細胞顯現專一性藍色反應,對照健株則無此項反應,表示病株組織中擬菌質病原之存在。供試長春草植株感染絲瓜簇葉病者,顯現重型之枝葉叢生病徵,惟未見有葉化花。長春草感染細花野牽牛簇葉病者,呈現極嚴重之叢生病徵。感染落花生簇葉病者,呈現中型病徵。感染甘藷簇葉病者,呈現輕型病徵。本試驗證實長春草可供多種植物簇葉病檢定之用。
- 英文摘要: The loofah witches' broom (LfWB) was transmitted from loofah plant to periwinkle by the parasiticdodder plant, Cuscuta chinensis Lam. Free hand sections of LfWB diseased periwinkle showed specificblue staining of phloem cells with Dienes' stain. Similar sections from healthy plants gave no reaction. Onperiwinkle, loofah witches' broom induced a severe degree of bushy growth, without the formation of leafyflower. Periwinkle plants grafted with scions taken from plants infected with Ipomoea obscure witches'broom, peanut witches' broom, and sweet potato witches' broom showed severe, intermediate and mildtypes of bushy appearance, respectively. The inoculation results indicate that periwinkle can be an idealindicator plant for differentiating witches' broom diseases.
