- 中文摘要: 本研究目的是在探討學生如何利用微電腦(MBL)為實驗工具來學習二度空間中距離對時間和速度對時間的圖型表微。本研究問題有三:(1)MBL或傳統學習環境較能幫助學生瞭解圖型表徵?(2)性別差異的影響為何?(3)學生本身能力的影響又如何?本研究同時也觀察師生在課堂上互動的情形,但不在本文討論範圍內。 研究結果顯示,學生能力高低和是否使用電腦對學生後測成績會有正面的影響。然而性別並非決定學習成就的因素。一般而言,實驗組較控制組表現要佳,但歸功於在距離對時間作圖的題目表現上,對於難度較高且較為抽象的速度圖,則兩組不見其差異性。大部分學生在圖型技能上進步較多的是從圖型去解釋變數間的關係。而學生表現最差的則是由速度圖去建構出距離的相關圖。
- 英文摘要: This research examines changes in students’graphing skills and scientific concepts broughtabout by the use of Microcomputer-Based Laboratories (MBL's) as opposed to a traditionallearning environment in four seventh-grade classrooms (two standard and two honor classrooms)in New England, U.S.A. The primary investigations focus on (1) which situation (MBL's or a traditional learningenvironment) is more effective in improving students' scientific competence, (2) whether genderinfluences performance, and (3) whether there are systematic differences in student performancethat are attributable to differences in academic ability. This study also investigates how teachersand students interact in each experimental setting and how students reflect on their behaviorswith the instructional tools. However, in this article, these observations are excluded. The findings of this research reveal that important predictors of students’performance onthe post-test were the level of students’ability and the treatment. Gender was not a significantpredictor of the post-test scores. Also, the treatment had the same effect regardless of studentability. The main contribution to the difference between treatment and control group was dueto differences on the subtest of distance items. There were no differences between the treatmentgroups on the subtest of velocity items. In addition, students improved the most on items thatrequired them to translate from graphs to written descriptions. This suggests that experiencesin this study helped students to be better graph interpreters. However, they were still incapableof constructing velocity graphs from distance graphs. This was evident both on their post-testperformance and on their worksheets.
