- 中文摘要: 研究化學最有趣的特性之一是學習如何調控化學反應。一方面,理論化學家應用嚴謹的基木物理定律--如量子力學,來增加吾人對分子的物理性及化學性的細部瞭解;另一方面,合成化學家卻以經驗性的方式來合成複雜度驚人的新分子;在這兩者之間,我們有興趣從反應中間體的立體、電子結構和反應途徑之間,經由實驗來建立細部的關連。 在特定的反應系統中,如果反應中間體能被單離而作完整的結構鑑定,再加上從中間體到生成物有各條截然不同的反應途徑,則吾人有可能利用微調中間體的立體、電子結構,來達到調控反應途徑的目的。 金屬羰化物介化下的二矽環已烯與共軛二烯的環加成反應就是一個極佳的微調系統的例子。
- 英文摘要: One of the fascinating aspects of studying chemistry is learning to control chemical reactions. Onone hand, theoretical chemists add to our understaning of detailed physical properties and reactivities ofmolecules by applying rigorous physical laws such as quantum mechanics; on the other hand, syntheticchemists rather keep exploring new methods to make new molecules of enormous complexity by an em-pirical approach. In the middle, however, there is interest in establishing experimentally the detailedcorrelation between the structures and properties of the reaction intermediates and the reaction pathways. In certain reaction systems where the reaction intermediates can be isolated and fully characterizedand the reaction pathways are found to be very distinctive, it is possible to fine-tune the steric and/orelectronic properties of the intermediates to control the reaction pathways. The cycloaddition reaction between disilacyclobutenes and conjugated dienes mediated by metalcarbonyls serves as an excellent example of such fine-tunging systems.
