- 中文摘要: The small specimens having 2 by 2 by 4-cm in dimensions of tung oil tree(Aleurites fordii HEMSL.) wood were impregnated with styrene, methyl methacrylateand vinyl acetate, and cured by the catalyst-heat technique under various nitrogengas pressure to evaluate the effect of the application of pressure during curingperiod. The polymerization of these three kinds of monomers in wood completed mainlyin first 10 to 15 hours. The percentage of polymerization of styrene was the largest, then methyl methacrylate and vinyl acetate in order respectively. The polymerization of vinyl acetate impregnated wood which cured in suitablesize of tightly covered aluminum container was very good and had a very highpercentage of polymerization. It may be considered that if the curing tube is filled with monomer impregnatedwood it will have a good polymerization result. The application of nitrogen gas pressure of 1-15 kg/cm during curing periodhad a good effect to both of aluminum foil wrapped or unwrapped specimens andespecially to that of unwrapped. It was most effective to vinyl acetate, whichhaving a low boiling point, then to methyl methacrylate. The ratio of the percentageof polymerization of unwrapped specimens which cured under various nitrogen gaspressure to that of wrapped with aluminum foil specimens which cured underatmospheric or nitrogen gas pressure of these two kinds of monomers increasedhyperbolically with increasing nitrogen gas pressure, and a little increment to styrenewhich having a high boiling point. It is preferable to apply a high pressure of 15kg/cm for vinyl acetate and methyl methacrylate, and low pressure, of 1-3 kg/cm forstyrene during curing period.
