- 中文摘要: 大王椰子[Roystonea regiα (H. B. K.) O· F. Cook]是最高大的單子葉植物之一 。其莖部雖粗大,但並無管束形成層之存在。?與莖部加粗之組織,至少有下列五項:(1)初生加粗分生組織;(2)纖維?之側面展開生長;(3)基本組織內之薄壁細胞 之增大;(4)基本組織內細胞間隙之形成;(5)周皮之形成。其中只有周皮?後生組織,而其它四項皆屬初生生長。 初生加粗分生組織起源極早,纖維?之側面展開生長?時長久,而基本組織內薄壁組織之增大與間隙之形成,乃由莖部 之中央部分,逐漸向外圍進行。周皮則?最後形成者,細胞層數也不多。
- 英文摘要: The tissues which are responsible for the increase in girth of the stem of the Royal Palm (Roystonea regia (H. B. K.) O. F. Cook) have been examined by the optical microscope. At least five categories of tissues take part in increasing the diameter of the axis of this palm. They are: (1) the activity of the primary thickening meristem; (2) the lateral expansion of fiber strands; (3) cell enlargement in the ground parenchyma; (4) lacuna formation in the ground tissue; (5) the development of the periderm. Only the periderm is found to be of secondary origin, the other four are all primary. The establishment of the primary thickening meristem occurs very early. The cells in the fiber strands retain their expansion ability for a long time. Both the enlargement and the lacuna-formation of the ground parenchyma proceed progressively from the center of the stem toward the periphery. The periderm develops very late in comparison with the other four tissues.
