- 中文摘要: The characteristics of a wireless network environment are different from those of a wired network environment. To increase the throughput of data transmission, we propose a wireless transport control protocol (WTCP) that is suitable for the internetworking of wired and wireless networks. The features of WTCP include fast acknowledgement, on-demand retransmission, a K-success status report and a time-out mechanism at the receiver module. WTCP is capable of tackling problems caused by the vulnerable wireless environment and TCP flow control mechanism at the sender side. We are developed analytical models to evaluate the performance of WTCP. The analytical results are verified by simulation results. The analytical and simulation results show that WTCP performs better than a well-known module-based protocol (i.e. SNOOP) and TCP do.
