- 中文摘要: 臺灣東部蛇文礦石中盛產軟玉及石棉,其主要成分為氧化鎂。氧化鎂為耐火及鐵金屬工業的基本原料。因此從蛇文石開採、軟玉加工、耐火及鎂金屬工業所排之廢水,均含氧化鎂。本研究達成兩項目的:其一藉添加相當氧化鎂.8%的澱粉可減少硫酸鋁用量70%,氧化鎂膠懸物去除率達到99.6%,沉降速率增加一倍以上;其二運用混凝率常數K的短暫狀況性質,並藉助速率方程式作圖得一直線之便利,可校驗實驗數據及獲致廠商設廠處理氧化鎂膠懸物時所需要的體積濃度φ、混凝時間θ及剪切率G。就防污效益言,本研究結果可以大量節省廠商單位成品附加費的支出,縮小處理設備及經濟土地使用,頗合國情需要。
- 英文摘要: In the eastern part of Taiwan, there arebillions tons of serpentinite which containsnephrite, asbestos and 40% MgO. Industrieswhich use serpentine as the starting materialare those of magnesium metal refinneries:refractory industries and nephrite finishing. Themajor composition of wastewaters from serpen-tine industries is magnesium oxide suspensions.This study concerns the removal of suspendedsolid from serpentine industrial effluent by chem-ical treatment. Magnesium oxide flocculationand settling behaviour have been investigated.Jar-test experiments conducted using alum andpolyelectrolyte. Flocculation process and floc-culation rate constant are expressed in-Gθφ andK respectively. Concentration of starch varyingbetween 0-3.2% has significant influence onflocculation and settling behaviour. The amountof alum required can be reduced by 70% byusing starch 0.8% of the amount of MgO in thesuspension and, at the same time the settingvelocity has been increasing twofold. Resoultsof this study can ba used in pollution abatementwith more economical way.
