- 英文摘要: Scanning and transmission electron microscopes were used to determine the fine structures of the gills of Corbicula fluminea M. The corbiculae are filter-feeders. The cilia and cirri on the gills con- cerned with the movement of water and retention, sorting and transport of solid materials. Many different groups of cilia and cirri were found on the various regions of the gill filaments. Six different groups of cilia and cirri were found on the various regions of the gill filaments. 1.The frontal cilia are the long, nonbranched cilia on the frontal surface of gill filaments. 2. The sense cirri are short, bluntly triangular cirri which are present among the long frontal cilia. 3. The specialized large frontal cirri are a single row of cirri formed by a cluster of long cilia, located at one side of the frontal surface. 4. The pro-latero-frontal cilia are usually fine and short, which form a row of cilia along each side of the frontal surface. 5. The eu-latero-frontal cirri are large and complex. The cilia of cirri form a network with the mesh size, 0.9〞x 0.2〞.6. The lateral cilia are an ordinary type of cilia which are present on each side of the filaments. Studies of the biology and a parasite of Corbicula have been reported(1,2,3).Few papers have been published on the external and internal morphology ofthe gills of Corbicula_ The optical observation on gill structure and on the move-ment of cilia of some marine mussels have been illustrated by Atkins (4,5, 6, 7, 8).The transmission electron microscopic studies on the gill of Anodonta cataracta,Mytilus edulis and Basnea cadida have been made by Gibbons(1961)and by Owens(1974) (9, 10).They described the fine structure of different portions of the cilium, the basal body, and the fibers associated with the basal bodies in greater detail. Recently, Moore(1971)and Owen(1974) examined the lateral frontal cirri andeu-latero-frontal cirri of Mytilus edulis, Basnea cadida and Petricola pholadiformis underscanning electron microscope(10, 11).They emphasized the arrangement of thecilia which constituted the latero-frontal cirri and eu-latero-frontal cirri. Both Moore(1971) and Owen (1974) considered the small mesh sizes formed by the cilia ofcirri to be correlated with the high retention of small particles in these filterfeeders. In this study, both scanning and transmission electron microscopy techniqueswere used to study the morphology of gills of Corbicela fluminea M, with the aimto investigate the structure and distribution of cilia and cirri on gills. The purpose of the present study is to understand the types of cilia on the gillfilament of C. fluminea as a basis for further work on their roles in filter-feedingmechanism.
