內燃機改用他種用料之性能試驗

木計畫包括動力實驗室之建立及汽車用引擎採用他種燃料之性能試驗。試驗之燃料包括國產之高級汽油、液化石油氣及5%,10%,15%甲醇摻汽油。實驗引擎為裕隆1600 cc之火花點火引擎,按裝在動力計上。測試項目有制動功率輸出、燃料消耗率及排氣含量。除液化石油氣外,其他燃料之測試,以不改變任何機械裝置為原則。試驗採節汽門全開方式,變更負荷在不同的引擎轉速下記取數據。實驗結果顯示,使用摻甲醇汽油,引擎之功率輸出與使用汽油者相差無幾,但摻甲醇所造成之廢氣、碳氫化合物之含量較高,且與摻量成正比,一氧化碳之排量約與汽油者相同,但氧化氮之排量較低。雖摻甲醇汽油之燃料消耗比量較汽油高,但甲醇熱值低,故產生較高之熱效率。另一方面,液化石油氣的功率輸出較汽油低,但廢氣污染含量與燃料消耗比量均較低,故就燃料經濟與空氣污染的觀點而論,液化石油氣不失為一種好的內燃機燃料。

This project includes engine power laboratorybuiltup and engine performance tests by usingalternative fuels such as LPG and 5%, 10%,15% methanol-gasoline blend. Dynamometertests were carried out on a 1600 cc. Yue-Loonggasoline engine under wide open Throttle andvariable load. The experimental results showedno obvious change in power output by usingmethanol-gasoline mixtures. Although specificfuel consumption is higher with methanol as anadditive, it showed betty thermal efficiency.Exhaust emissions tests show that methanol-ga-soline blend produced larger concentrations ofHC than gasoline. However CO were about thesame and NOx level were lower. On the otherhand, LPG qives lower power output than gaso-line. While, as sfc and exhaust emissions areconcerned, LPG is a better fuel.
