- 中文摘要: 近年內全民科學素養的達成已成為各國科學教育的目標。在美國2061計畫的「全美科學素養」(Science for All Americans)一書中指出過去對科學素養的範疇定義並不清楚,是乃建議科學教育學者應明確的予以界定,以利科學素養目標的達成。本研究乃針對科學素養相關文獻做一探討以明其定義外,並將Laugksch 和Spargo (1996)所編製之「基本科學素養」問卷(Test of Basic Scientific Literacy, TBSL)予以效化成中文版,以做為科教學者及教師從事研究及推廣時所須之工具。TBSL問卷包括科學內容(含地球與太空科學、生命科學、物質科學、健康科學四部份)、科學本質及STS等三分量表;係依AAAS所建議之範疇及條目發展題目而來,故已建立良好之構念效度。故本研究乃循回溯翻譯、專家審訂、高中生試測等過程逐次修訂,以確保中文版問卷之表面效度。繼之,就三所同學區內不同程度之高中學生為對象,比較其在上述量表中的表現。整體而言,理組學生得分高於文組學生,三年級高於一年級學生,而學業程度較佳的學校其學生的得分也較高,證明TBSL能夠有效的區別不同程度的學生。而學生在TBSL及各分量表的成績亦與其智育及自然科成績呈顯著相關,代表本問卷亦獲得效標關聯效度之支持。又高中學生在健康科學、STS和地球與太空科學等三分量表的表現較佳;相對而言,對科學本質及物質科學的理解則較差。
- 英文摘要: Valid measures of scientific literacy are necessary if we are to meet the goal of science for all as suggested by Project 2061. Therefore, this study reports on the development and validation of a Chinese version of The Test of Basic Scientific Literacy, TBSL, (English version) developed by Laugksch & Spargo (1996). The TBSL contains three sub-tests: content, nature of science, and science, technology and society (STS). The content sub-test consists of earth science and astronomy, life science, physical science, and health science items. In order to validate the Chinese version the instrument was administered to students from three high schools in one district in Taiwan. The results show that the Chinese version of the TBSL was reliable with a Cronbach alpha of 0.97 for the entire test and 0.96 for the content sub-test, 0.86 for the nature of science sub-test and 0.88 for the STS sub-test. Furthermore science majors scored higher than non-science majors, grade 12 students performed better than tenth graders and students from higher-achieving schools scored better than those from lower-achieving schools. Moreover, the Chinese version maintained the construct validity, face validity, and criterion-related validity of the original test. High school students in this study performed better in health science, STS, and earth science and astronomy. However, the scores from the nature of science and physical science were relatively lower.
