The rate of oxidation of Ge(II) chloride by large excess of ClO..¯ ions in HCl, NaCl and NaSO4 mixed solutions was polarographically observed at various H3O+ and Cl¯ ion concentrations. The observed rate constant, kobs is expressed by ko=kobs/[ClO..¯]={k1[H+]+k2K1[Cl¯]2+k3K2[SO..2¯]}[H+]/{[H+]2+K1[Cl¯]2+K2[SO..2¯]} for the following reaction processes,

The values were obtained as k1=1.54×10¯3 liter2 mole2¯ sec¯1, k2=5.00×10¯2 liter2 mole2¯ sec¯2 and k3=4.30×10¯3 liter2 mole2¯ sec¯1. K1=1.80×10¯2, K2=2.43×10¯2 mole liter¯1 at constant ionic strength I=0.50M at 30℃. - 英文摘要: --
