The effect of Prandtl number on the steady heat transfer in the
incompressible laminar boundary layer flow over wedges with isothermal surface
and with a step discontinuity in surface temperature is studied by perturbation
method. For isothermal surface, a parameter perturbation solution with Pr-1/2 as
the parameter is used to calculate the temperature distribution and the rate of
heat transfer. Further transformation makes them into universal functions which
are independent of Prandtl number and wedge angle, and are solved in closed
form. For nonisothermal surface with a step discontinuity of surface temperature, a
series solution with the combination of parameter (Pr-1/3) and coordinate perturba-
tions is used to calculate the temperature distribution as well as the rate of heat
transfer. The temperature distribution is found as power series of Pr-1/3 with
