- 英文摘要: Oxygen and carbon isotopic compositions have been determined in fossil molluscan shells from the late Pleistocene Szekou Formation of southern Taiwan. These fossil mollusks have been well-preserved, based on evidence of x-ray diffraction, stable isotopic data and their occurrence in the field. The following isotopic ranges were found (relative to PDB standard): δ18O,-2.36%o to 1.62%o;δ13C, -3.26%o, to 2.91%o, .The stable isotopic data of fossil shells indicate that they lived in environments beginning with a pure marine one and ending with a freshwater influence. Heavier oxygen and lighter carbon isotopic ratios of these fossils relative to modern counterparts around Taiwan indicate that these fossil mollusks grew in a glacial period (oxygen isotope stage 3), as supported by the 14C dating results. The calculated mean uplift rate for the Szekou Formation shows a value (~3 mm/yr) comparable to the value of the Holocene mean uplift rate in this area, suggesting a constant uplifting since the last 45 Ka.
