• 中文摘要： 自夏威夷州癌症註冊處取得570位乳癌個案及相同數目未得乳癌的對照組，對照組所取樣的人種(race)，性別(sex)及年齡均與乳癌組相配合，這兩組人數分別自夏威夷州政府 Bureau of Crime Statistics and Civil Identification 所收集的指紋檔案中取得指紋資料，用以研究乳癌與指紋及 ridge counts 之相關性。結果顯示乳癌病人左手 radial loops 顯著過多，停經前的婦女得乳癌者其左手之 ulnar loops 的頻率比對照組顯著增高，而停經後之婦女得乳癌者其左手之 radialloops 亦增多。乳癌病人與對照組婦女之 total and absolute ridge counts 並沒有顯著差異。
• 英文摘要： Fingerprints of 570 breast cancer cases and the same number of matched controls were obtainedfrom the population-based finger print file in Hawaii for studying the association between breast cancer anddigital dermal patterns and ridge counts. The results showed that breast cancer patients had a significantexcess of radial loops on the left hand. It was also found that the frequency of ulnar loops on the left handwas significantly elevated for premenopausal women with breast cancer, whereas an excess of radial loopson the left hand was observed for the postmenopausal women with breast cancer. No significant differencefor the total and absolute ridge counts was found between breast cancer patients and controls.
