A strong form of optimal model reference adaptive control system
(OMRAC) has been developed theoretically to improve the weak form that the
author proposed previously. Unmeasurable and uncontrollable parameter changes or
unmeasurable disturbance can be adapted successfully. Strong OMRAC system is
made up from three schemes, viz: optimal model reference (OMR), optimal adaptive
control scheme I (OAC-I) and optimal adaptive control scheme II (OAC-II).
(strong OMRAC) = (OMR + (OAC-I ) + (OAC- II)
The difference between the strong from and weak from results from the presence
of (OAC-II) which is added to compensate the steady state drift caused by unmea-
surable parameter changes or unmeasurable load disturbances. Two examples are
