• 英文摘要： Kawasumi's intensity magnitude (MI) is compared with several instrumentally-determined magnitudes: MHS by Hsu (1971), MS and mB by Gutenberg and Richter (1954) and Abe (1981), MU by Utsu (1982a) for 65 Taiwan earthquakes (1901-1941). Major results are: (1) Excluding events with MI > 7, MI is correlated with MS as well as MHS. (2) MI is only slightly dependent upon mB. (3) Low correlation exists between MI and MU. (4) MI is not a good magnitude scale to quantify Taiwan earthquakes.
