- 英文摘要: Two simple chromene compounds known as precocene Ⅰand Ⅱ have been reported to have anti-juvenile hormone properties against certain insect species. These compounds were topically applied to virgin female diamondback moths in an effort to investigate their effects on sex attractancy to virgin males in a Y-choice olfactometer. Results from this study indicate that sublethal amounts of precocene Ⅱ (5 and 10μg/female) significantly reduces the sex attractancy by females. Precocene Ⅰ (0.50 and 1 μg/female) appears to be without effect in this regard. Hydroprene, a potent juvenile hormone analog, increases the sex attractancy of the female, which supports the belief that interference with juvenile hormone production and/or secretion by application of precocene ii may be operating in some way to affect pheromone release by the treated moths. Applicability of these findings in future pest control is indicated by results obtained in preliminary field testing of traps baited with precocene-treated females.
