鈄紋夜盜蟲之幼蟲寄生蜂-馬尼拉小繭蜂-

馬尼拉小繭蜂(Snellenius manilae Ashm. Braconidac)為單元寄生。多半寄生於斜紋夜盜蟲之二或三齡幼蟲,其寄生率可高達倡 43.9%,斜紋夜盜蟲為本省蔬菜大害蟲,將來在生物防治法中如能利用此小繭蜂,不但可防治此大害蟲,並可減少農藥之施用量。 本文從事其各期形態記述,發育經過及部份習性觀察。該蜂於 23 ± 1°C 及70~80% RH 之室溫下,自卵發育至成蜂之過程為:卵期三天,幼蟲有三齡共十四天,前蛹期二天,蛹期五天,完成一世代約需二十四天。臺北地區在自然室溫下,全年均可飼育,一年間可繁殖十七世代,完成一世代所需之日數為夏季十至十五天,冬季二十五至四十二天,冬季發育較慢,但無明顯之越冬現象。

Snellenius manilae (Ashmead) (Braconidae,Hymenoptera) was found as an endoparasiticlarval parasitoid of the armyworm (Spodo-ptera litura Fab., Noctuidae). It may beconsidered as one of the most promisingbiological control agents of the moth inTaiwan. The purpose of this investigationintended to obtain a thorough understandingof the biology of the parasitoid. This braconid parasitoid has 17 genera-tion in a year under natural room conditionin Taipei. Its developmental period wasshortened under the higher temperaturemonths, and longer under the lower temper-ature months. One generation usually took10 to 15 days during the summer, 25 to 42days during the winter, respectively. Observations on its life cycle were carriedout under the insectary conditions of approxi-mately 23 ± 1°C and 70-80% RH. Theaverage duration of the egg, larval, prepupaland pupal stages of the parasitoid was 3, 14,2 and 5 days, respectively. The total develop-mental period of one generation requiredabout 24 days in average. Larval stage ap-peared to have 3 instars, the first, second andthird instar lasted 4, 9 and 1 day, respectively.The fully grown larva always came out fromthe host body and pupated inside silken co-coon beside the remains of its host larva.Female and male adults fed on 25% honeycould live for an average of 15 and 13.5 days,respectively. Mating and oviposition behaviorand morphological characteristics of the para-sitoid are also described.
