伽馬針線對豆象之輻射效應

豆象(Callosobruchus Chinensis L.)是本省倉貯豆類之主要害蟲,其幼蟲蛀入豆粒中為害。豆象之卵經1千雷得之伽馬射線照射處理後不能孵化;幼蟲經5千雷得照射則發育受到抑制。蛹期及成蟲期之照射不孕劑量分別是2及5千雷得。因此利用5千雷得伽馬照射處理倉貯豆類可達到防治豆象之目的。

The cowpea weevil (Callosobruchus Chinensis L.) was one of the most serious pests of stored dry beans in Taiwan. It caused damage during larval stage. Treatment of gamma irradiation with I krad to eggs of the cowpea weevil prevented their hatching;a dose of 5 krad applied to larvae prevented theirdevelopment. The sterility dosage against thepupa and adult were 2 and 5 krad respectively.It is concluded that a 5 krad gamma irradiationcould be applied to stored dry beans to controlthe cowpea weevils.
