氦氖雷射製造技術研究

“氦氖雷射製造技術研究”已經順利完成,上項工作是為原來雷射裝置自製研究計畫之第一階段。雷射管中的陰極採用2024鋁合金為材料,並用氧轟擊(oxygen bombarment)之表面處理方法,其壽命至今已逾一萬小時,至於影響雷射輸出功率之因素,如氦氖氣體混合之比率值,氣體總壓力之大小,以及直流放電電流大小等之影響,均曾詳加驗探。結果,發現當氦氖氣體壓力比在10:1,總壓力在2·0 Torr,電流為9 mA,時輸出功率最高達3.6 mW。研製完成的雷射管,計有外鏡片(external mirror)型,內鏡片(internal mirror)型和單一外鏡片型(一端為布如士特窗(Brewster window),一端為鏡子)三種類。在研製過程中,所缺數種必要之儀具,其設製經過情形,亦在本文中略加提述。

The fabrication of He-Ne laser, whichis the first stage of the project of“Fabri-cation of Lasers”, has been accomplished.A lifetime of more than 10,000 hours hasbeen obtained for the He-Ne laser tube, byusing the type 2024 Al alloy as the coldcathode and the oxygen bombardment methodfor the cathode surface processing. Theinfluences of the total gas pressure, theHe-Ne partial pressure ratio and the opti-mum do discharge current to the outputpower are also investigated. The largestoutput power in this work is 3.6 mWueder a total pressure of 2.0 Torr at aHe-Ne pressure ratio of 10:1 and fora current of 9 mA. The laser tubes withexternal, internal mirrors and a mixturetype (a mirror is mounted on one side ofthe capillary and a Brewster window on theother one) have been constructed. Detailsof the fabrication, including the main equip-ment used, are also described.
