- 中文摘要: 本文為一個基於液晶光閥(LCLV)元件所組成的非線性及二元聯合轉換相關器之實驗報告。首先我們將液晶光閥的特性曲線找出,接著在不同特性曲線下完成聯合轉換相關器之實驗。液晶光閥的工作模式不但可由外加信號之電壓和頻率來控制,也會受到輸入信號的強度所影嚮。由於不同的輸入信號便有不同的信號最大強度·因此要將液晶光閥控制在某一特定的工作模式非常困難。根據我們的實驗結果,液晶光閥在非線性工作模式下會有一些損耗,但是卻有較大的相關信號。然而相關信號並非如理論上所預期的那麼大,這是因為理論分析時忽略了元件本身的損耗。
- 英文摘要: Nonlinear and binary joint-transform correlator (JTC) experiments based on the liquid crystal lightvalve (LCLV) are reported here. The transfer characteristic of the LCLV is first described. Then theresults of experiments for different joint-transform correlators are given. Although the operating modeof an LCLV can be controlled by the applied AC voltage at different frequencies, it is also influencedby the strength of the input signal. Therefore, controlling an LCLV to operate in a specific mode in practicalapplications is difficult because different input signals have different maximum intensities. Accordingto the experiments, a nonlinear JTC provides larger correlation signal though an LCLV are lossy in thenonlinear operation mode. However, the correlation signal of a nonlinear JTC is not as large as predictedfrom the theoretical studies This mismatch is mainly due to lack of understanding of the lossy devicein theoretical studies.
