- 英文摘要: Chlorophyll (Chl) a/b ratios were determined for 17 species of bryophytes collected from habitatswith 100% relative humidity, low temperature, low light environment and 1760 m elevation in Yuan-YangLake nature reserve of northern Taiwan. Two hydrophytic plants collected from the lake were used forcomparison. All mean ratios were more than or equal to 2.17. The average Chl a/b ratio of these 17 bry-ophytes was around 2.41, lower than the value of 3.08 found in two hydrophytes but greatly higher thanthe values for mosses and liverworts reported in the literature. The bryophytes can adjust their Chl ex-pression with higher Chl a/b ratio within a small range to adapt to intense illumination (250 μmole m s).
