The apparent mass transfer coefficient in a two-dimensional fluidized-bed electrode reactor (FBER) containing conductive particles was experimentally studied. The limiting current which was graphically obtained with the aid of current efficiencies was employed to calculate the mass transfer coefficient. A correlation equation was proposed for the mass transfer rates between the electrolyte and fluidized copper particles as follows: (St).in.(Sc)/sup (2/3)/=0.029(Re/sub p/)/sup -0.5/ where 10
