吾人曾經報告Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae乾菌落突變株品系 D-1305 與 D-1308 之若干特性,包括其分離
、生長量及生產胞外多醣(exopolysaccharide, EPS) 量之減少、細胞外層脂多醣(lipopolysaccharide, LPS)之缺失、細
胞在生成圓胞質體之溶液(spheroplast-formation medium)中之凝聚及經滲透震撼(osmotic shock)釋出較少酸性解磷
?等。最近,進一步探討更發現此種突變還引起其他改變,包括:蔗糖分解? D-乳酸脫氫?活性之減少、色素成分之
改變及其含量之增加、對三種噬菌體之抗性、病原性之減弱及鹼性解磷?活性之增加等。綜言之,突變使胞外多醣之合
成減少之同時,亦引起基因多元性影響。本文並建議鹼性解磷?可能參與胞外多醣生合成調節。
n - 英文摘要: Non-mucoid mutants of Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae strains D-1305 and D-1308 were pre-viously shown to proliferate less, be defective in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) synthesis, agglutinate in a sphero-plast-formation medium and release less acid phosphatase by osmotic shock procedures. In the presentstudy,we revealed further alterations occurring in the mutants, which include decreased levels of invertaseand D-lactate dehydrogenase, altered pigmentation and increased pigment contents, resistant to phages,attenuated virulence and elevated alkaline phosphatase activity. Altogether, it is apparent that pleiotropiceffects have been caused by the mutation leading to reduced synthesis of exopolysaccharides (EPS).
