- 中文摘要: 行政院國家科學委員會與臺灣省農業試驗所於民國六十七年六月七日至八日在臺中縣霧峰鄉臺灣省農業試驗所聯合主辦 「臺灣二期作稻低?原因及其解決方法」研討會,會後並籌印研討會專集,由國家科學委員會發行,?將於八月內出版。 臺灣地區第二期作水稻種植面積超過第一期作百分之三十以上,但產量僅及一期作的百分之七十五左右,因此如何提高 二期水稻?量,對臺灣地區糧食增?問題,實具有莫大的重要性。本次研討會邀集中央研究院、農業發展委員會、臺灣大學 、中興大學、農業試驗所及各區農業改良場之專家學者二十餘人,除報告研究成果外,並研擬未來?究方向,及釐定有效率 之工作計畫。菲律賓國際稻米研究所育種學家張德慈博士 ,亦應邀在會中發表專題演講。與會人員包括來自全省二十六個農 業研究單位之代表,合計一百五十人以上。 ?將出版之「臺灣二期作稻低?原因及其解決方法研討會專集」,內容計包括第二期作水稻栽培現況論文三篇,環境因 子之影響論文三篇,作物生理方面論文六篇,土壤肥料方面論文四篇,病蟲害問題論文兩篇,育種方法論文兩篇,以及提高 二期作稻?量之對策論文兩篇,並包括綜合討論,由與會人員共同研商今後?改進臺灣二期作稻?量之研究方向,所獲結論 ,均切合實際,深信對本省二期稻低?問題之解決,能提供極有價?之貢獻。
- 英文摘要: Proceedings of a Symposium on the Causes of Low Yield of the Second Crop Rice in Taiwan and the Measures for Improvement, co-sponsored by the National Science Council of the Republic of China and Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, and held at the Institute in Wufeng, Taichung, Taiwan from 7-8 June, 1978 will be published by the National Science Council. As the acreage of rice production is 30% higher, but the yield per unit area is 25% lower, in the second than in the first crop in Taiwan, a further advance in rice productivity in the second crop season would be essential for the increasing dependence by an expanding population on relatively limited cropland. The Symposium, attended by experts from Academia Sinica, Council for Agricultural Planning and Development, National Taiwan University, National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute and many District Agricultural Improvement Stations, was characterized by the presentation of research papers and a joint proposal of a guideline for future studies. Dr. T. T. Chang, breeder of the International Rice Research Institute in Philippines, was also invited to speak on the application of genetic resources on rice breeding programs. The attendence of over 150 delegates from 26 agricultural research organizations all over the island also marked the great success of the Symposium. The oncoming 'Proceedings of a Symposium on the Causes of Low Yield of the Second Crop Rice in Taiwan and the Measures for Improvement' deals with rice production in many aspects. Contents of this Proceedings include the present status of rice production (3 papers), environmental impacts on yield (3 papers), rice physiology (6 papers), soil and fertilizer studies (4 papers), diseases and insect pests (2 papers), selection method of rice breeding (2 papers), and improvement of the second rice crop (2 papers). It also included a general discussion session. By summarizing the many suggestions provided by the attending delegates, a practical guideline for future studies aimed at improving the second rice crop in Taiwan had been drawn. The Proceedings will contribute valuable informations to rice researchers as well as to rice production in the future.
