- 中文摘要: 冷凍切刻(Freeze-Fracture)之研究結果顯示:小白鼠與沙鼠連合下器官襯裡細胞(Subcommissural Organ EpendymalCells或簡稱SCO細胞)之緊密結合(Tight Junction)具有明顯的品種差異(Species Variation)小白鼠SCO細胞之緊密結合,其深度達0.88±0.16μm,並為數條之結合股(Junctional Strand)所構成,其直線密度為7.12±2.11條∕μm。 沙鼠SCO細胞之緊密結合則可分為三個區域:(1)項端區:接近腦室部分,由4、6條平行排列之結合股所組成,其直線密度為21.78±3.98條/μm,而其深度則僅為0.049±0.009μm;(2)中間區:較為平滑而僅具極少或無結合股之區域;(3)基部區:為緊密結合最底部之區域,此區域與小白鼠之緊密結合比較,不論在形態上或統計資料上,均極近似,而無顯著之差異。 由以上結果,吾人得知:小白鼠與沙鼠SCO細胞緊密結合之差異,在於沙鼠SCO細胞緊密結合具有由數條平行排列之結合股所形成之項端區,沙鼠為一沙漠動物,對於乾旱有極強之適應能力,再者,一般認為SCO與動物體內水份之調節、平衡及代謝有密切關係,故吾人認為沙鼠SCO細胞緊密結合之頂端區與沙鼠能在乾旱中生存之機轉有密切關係。
- 英文摘要: Freeze-fracture studies on the tight junction of ependymal cells in the gerbil and mouse subcom-missural organ (SCO) show an obvious species-specific variation. The tight junctional structure of themouse SCO is composed of several strands (7.03±2.09 strands/cell) and occupies a total depth of 0.88±0.16μm with a linear density of 7.12±2.11 strands/μm. The tight junction of the gerbil SCO is composed ofthree regions:(1) an apical region: made of 4 to 6 strands, oriented parallel to the free surface, with a highlinear density (21.78±3.98 strands/μm) and small depth (0.049±0.009 μm); (2) a rather smooth and/orempty intermediate region, and(3) a basal region similar in morphology and morphometry to the junction-al area of mouse SCO. These data indicate that the main difference in the SCO tight junction between thegerbil and the mouse is the presence of an apical region of high strand density in the former. We speculatethat this apical region may play a role in maintaining the homeostasis of this CNS region in gerbils and pos-sibly other desert animals, and may be part of a mechanism for survival in an extremely dry environment.
