相思樹整體製造硫酸鹽紙漿之研究

Acacia is one of the native speciesgrown widely in the low altitude andhas the greatest potential as raw mate-rial for pulp industry in Taiwan. Themain purpose of this experiment wasto study the possibility in the utilizationof complete-tree of Taiwan Acacia. The results obtained are summarizedas follows:1. The total weight of the components in addition to bole, such as branches, unmerchantable tops, stump and roots is approximately same to that of its bole. Thus, the utilization of complete-tree is of great value to increase the raw material for pulp mills.2. The optimum amount of active al- kali used for sulphate process was 14% for branches, 20% for bole and unmerchantable tops, 18% for stump and roots and 16-18% for complete- tree of Acacia respectively.3. In branches, the least amount of ac- tive alkali was required for cooking and the highest yield and strength properties of pulp were obtained4. In the utilization of the branches, the most difficult job is debarking, while we found that the bark will be easily separated from the bran- ches chip by floating method.5. The yield and quality of pulp from the complete-tree of Acacia were better than those of the bole bulp. Therefore, the complete-tree utiliza- tion of Acacia in Taiwan as raw material for pulp industry will be practically valuable.
