• 中文摘要： 許多漢語方言裡，表示否定的詞語常不只一個。除了單純的否定詞以外，還出現由這個否定詞與動貌詞或情態詞合音或合義產生的「合體否定詞」。閩南話的否定詞，計有‘唔、無、無會、莫愛、（唔）免、莫好’等。但是這些否定詞裡，究竟那些是單純否定詞，那些是合體否定詞？合體否定詞又是那一個否定語素與那些動貌或情態語素如何合音或合義產生的？這些否定詞的語意內涵、出現分佈與句法表現又如何？各個否定詞在出現分佈上特定的限制或句法上特殊的表現應該如何規範或詮釋？為了回答這些問題，我們先把Li（1971）、Lin（1974）、Teng（1992）與Saillard（1992）等人有關分析的重點加以介紹，然後再提出我們的評述與自己的分析；希望以更單純的分析，發掘更多的語言事實，達成更高的詮釋功效。
• 英文摘要： In many Chinese dialects, the negative morpheme tends to fuse with its following aspectualor modal verb to form a single syllable; in addition, the morpheme/verb combination is oftenwritten as a single character. This presents a theoretical and pedagogical problem: how toidentify and separate the negative morpheme from the connected aspectual or modal verb, whileat the same time creating the most general analysis for purposes of linguistic research andlanguage education. In this paper I review and critique previous research by such linguists asLi (1971), Lin (1974), Teng (1992) and Saillard (1992). I then present an original analysis inan attempt to delineate a usable linguistic generalization.
