0 - 英文摘要: An inducible cholesterol oxidase-producing bacterium, Arhtrobacter simplex B-7, which was newlyisolated from Taiwan soil was improved by an ultraviolet radiation mutation. Among various mutantsisolated, mutants U-S-A-18 and U-O-24 were selected for the high potency in the production of cholesteroloxidase. Mutant U-S-A-18, a streptomycin and ampicillin resistant mutant, is an inducible enzyme pro-ducer;mutant U-O-24 is a constitutive enzyme producer. Under optimum fermentation conditions, thecholesterol oxidase productivities of mutant U-S-A-18 and mutant U-O-24 were 9- and 2.3-fold those ofthe parent strain, respectively. It indicates that both the inducible mutant U-S-A-18 and the constitutivemutant U-O-24 are cholesterol oxidase-producing microorganisms of industrial potentiality.
