- 中文摘要: This research examines 20 kinds of totally 69 adult basic literacy textbooks to explore the attributes of their contents and target users. In terms of contents, these textbooks deal more with life values, ethics, leisure tourism, the relation of human and nature, and economical issues. Four categories are identified among these textbooks: the one which emphasizes on basic literacy, the one which balances between basic literacy and general knowledge, the one which mainly focuses on general knowledge and with less concern on basic literacy, and the one which only values the general knowledge. In terms of the depth and volumes, the second category of the textbooks, which balances between basic literacy and general knowledge, meets the most needs of beginning learners. Due to their emphasis on general knowledge, the third and the fourth categories of the textbooks contain information much more than learners can afford. Textbooks, which were published in recent two or three years, have a good balance in their contents between basic literacy and general knowledge, and show clearly who their target users are. Finally, this research provides several suggestions for the compilation of textbooks both in practice and theory construction in the future.
- 英文摘要: 本研究檢視國內20種69冊成人基本識字教材的內容屬性與適用對象發現:各教材所含括的文化素養以人生價值觀、倫理與道德、休閒旅遊、人與自然,以及經濟居多;全部教材可歸納為四類:僅強調基本識字者、兼重基本識字與常識者、以常識為主基本識字為輔者,以及僅強調常識者。在深度與份量上,以第二類兼重基本識字與常識的教材最符合初學者的需要,而第三、四類者由於重點在於教授常識,其份量超出成人基本識字教育學習者所能負荷的程度。晚近二、三年以來出版的教材明顯地在內容上較能兼重基本識字與常識,同時適用的對象亦較明確。最後,本研究並針對未來教材的編輯、理論的建構提出若干具體的建議。
