- 中文摘要: 本文研究代表臺灣中新世地層所含各煤層的試樣十七個,其所含二硫化鐵與硫酸高鐵溶液的化學作用。由作者自行設計試驗步驟:分?二硫化鐵的分解;分解後硫份氧化成硫酸液或(和)析出元素硫兩個階段。並由實驗數據求出二硫化鐵分解和析硫的百分率。實驗結果顯示南莊上層與中層,石底上層、中層和部份主層及木山上層各含煤地層的煤樣所含二硫化鐵均能被硫酸高鐵熱溶液分解,其他地層的煤樣則不起作用。由此推論,煤樣能否脫硫與其生成時壓力發生關係。換言之,亦即與二硫化鐵和煤的有機主體粘結力的大小成比例。浸漬試驗時,實驗數據顯示生成硫酸和煤樣所含鐵礦發生化學作用生成硫酸高鐵使濃度增?而利作用的循環。又因二硫化鐵分解時析出元素硫。故煤樣所含元素硫宜先加測定。臺灣石底及木山含煤地層所採煤樣元素硫的含量經多次測定雖在0.1﹪以下,就學術上言頗具重要意義。又試驗上述煤層試樣五個,同一試樣在民國五十八年及六十六年分別測定硫份存在狀態發現二硫化鐵硫份說減而硫酸物硫份大增,顯示煤樣不但必須新鮮而測定硫份存在狀態(包括元素硫)與脫硫試驗應同時進行,方能避免試樣已起變化的誤差。
- 英文摘要: Seventeen Miocene coals of Taiwan, representing different coal formations and seams, was investigated to desulfurize by reacting coal with hot ferric sulfate solution. From the results of the designed test-procedure of the writer, the iron disulfide in the coal sample is first decomposed and then the decomposed sulfur oxidizes to sulfate or/and deposited as free sulfur if the reaction takes place. From the analytical results, both the percentage of decomposition and sulfur deposited can be calculated. We found that the disulfide of the coal samples of upper and middle Nanchuang Formation, as well as the upper, middle, and few of main Shihti Formation and upper Mushan, can react actively with hot ferric sulfate solution while the rest are inert. Accordingly, whether the reaction takes place or not may depend on the pressure of coalification at the geo-chemical stage. The mechanical and electrostatic forces between the iron disulfide and the organic matrix probably play an important role. During the decomposing period, free sulfuric acid is produced to dissolve iron minerals originally present in the coal samples and ferric sulfate so produced increases the strength of the leaching liquor by determining the iron contents in the different mediums. The sulfur from decomposition of disulfides should be distinguished from that of elemental sulfur originally present. So the elemental sulfur in the coal samples investigated should be determined. After careful study, it was found to be less than 0.1% in most determinations and is significant in the academic work. Moreover, different forms of sulfur in the five Miocene coals of Taiwan which had been determined eight years ago are redetermined recently by the writer. It is found that the sulfate sulfur has increased whereas disulfide sulfur has decreased significantly. Therefore the coal samples studied should be tested as fresh as possible and both forms of sulfur (including elemental sulfur) and desulfurization should be investigated at the same time so that discrepancy between the samples can be minimized.
