ABS base resins are mixed with a kind of lubricant in various contents.
The critical shear stress (τ1) above which the unsmooth fluid occurs and the critical
shear stress (τ2) above which the melt fracture occurs are experimentally determined
by Koka flow tester. The values ofτ1 andτ2 increase slightly with increasing the
lubricant content (Φ). The similar behavior is observed in the corresponding
critical recoverable strains (SR1 and SR2). The relative critical shear stresses for
τl, τ2can be fitted to the following empirical formulas respectively:
τ1(Φ)/ τ1(0)=1+0.098Φ
τ2(Φ)/ τ2(0)=1+0.070Φ
The elongation as well as impact strength of lubricated ABS resins show a maximum
value with increasing Φ, whereas the tensile strength monotonously decreases as
the lubricant content increases. The effect of lubricant on the flow instability and
the mechanical properties of ABS resins are discussed. - 中文關鍵字: --
