- 中文摘要: 本研究的主要目的是探討國中和國小不同年級的學生對於科學與科學家印象和看法之異同,同時希望了解不同性別的學生和不同學校的學生是否也有差異性存在。本研究採用Osborne和Gilbert(1979)所發展之IAI(interview-about-instances )法給予國小一、三、五和國中二年級共297位學生30組Boylan設計之科學與科學家圖片測驗,並同時進行一對一訪談以期了解學生們選擇圖片的看法與個中原因。 結果發現不同年級的學生對30組科學與科學家圖片的選擇有22組達顯著性差異。而學生們對科學與科學家印象所持之看法原因也隨著年齡增加,受到媒體和社會的影響隨之增大,其複雜性也相對增高。此外,發現低年級不論男女學生對於大部分的圖片之選擇和看法很相似且大多認為男性較可能成為科學家,而高年級男女學生對於科學家外表之印象則隨年齡增加其差異性也逐漸增大。不同學校的低年級學生間之科學與科學家印象看法的差異性比高年級來的大。
- 英文摘要: The purpose of this study was to examine elementary and middle school students'perceptions of science, scientists, and their work. The interview-about-instance (IAI)procedure was utilized to interview elementary school grades 1, 3, 5 and middle school grade2 students, 297 in total, with modified Boylan’s 30 pairs of illustrations concerned with thephysical appearance, gender, work tasks, workplace, and employment of scientists. Resultsshowed that different grade level students made different initial responses in relation tomost of the illustrations (22 out of 30 items). Moreover, the comments of their initialresponses revealed an increase in sophistication across the four grade levels. Lower gradelevel boys and girls made similar initial responses to most of the illustrations, and highergrade level students revealed an increased difference between boys’and girls' ideas onscientist appearance items. It seems that greater differences among different schoolsexisted in grade 1 students than with any other grade level students.
