• 中文摘要： 本研究之目的乃在探討國小低年級學童對稱概念之發展、了解情況以及差異性，並觀察其對稱概念的思考類型及分析可能之錯誤，藉以提供小學教師教學及課程編訂之參考。就台中師院輔導區（台中市、台中縣、彰化縣、南投縣）內之小學，以城市、鄉村、偏遠學校分類，探分層隨機抽樣方式，選取一年級511位，二年級507位學童施行筆測及一、二年級各56位學童進行個別面談。 研究進行以「質」為主，以「量」為輔，經「質」與「量」的觀察中，發現筆測反應較優者，在訪談操作中大部分表現亦較佳。研究結果顯示：二年級學童比一年級學童概念清楚，對稱圖形的辨別中，學童普遍清楚左右對稱現象，上下對稱的特性次之，對稱軸為傾斜之現象則較不熟悉；在鏡射概念方面，發現學童對鏡映像的前後、左右關係不甚了解，經給予實際鏡子操作後，始較能體會鏡映現象。經由理解層次分析發現，大部分學童落於第一、二層之線對稱概念有關的一些基本特性之理解，及直觀辨別線對稱形狀的特徵。而具備第三、四層次的線對稱特徵之抽象思考與推斷能力者之比例甚低。針對上述研究結果，本研究提出一些建議。
• 英文摘要： This study was to examine the development of first and second graders’concepts of linesymmetry. 511 first graders and 507 second graders, chosen from elementary schools in the centralpart of Taiwan, Republic of China, took a paper-and-pencil test. After their responses wereexamined, 56 students from each grade were individually interviewed in order to further investigatetheir thinking and concepts of line symmetry. By use of processes adopted in the CSMS associationin the United Kingdom, the study demonstrated the developmental levels of the low graders’concepts of line symmetry.
