粉體塗裝用飽和共聚酯樹脂之合成及其性質之研究

以新戊二醇及偏苯三酸為第三成份,與聚酯纖維原料,即乙二醇及對苯二甲酸反應,在實驗室內以不同的方法製成直鏈及交聯兩種類型之粉體塗裝用共聚醋樹脂。使用新戊二醇可降低樹脂之熔點,而偏苯三酸則用以提供交聯之基座。在二元醇與多元酸之摩爾比維持一定的情況下,改變直鏈型樹脂中新戊二醇之含量及樹脂之酸價,以探討其對樹脂玻璃轉移點、軟化點及熔點的影響。同樣的,改變交聯型樹脂之酸價以探討其熱性質之變化情形。兩種類型之樹脂分別於測定熔烙指數後與熟化劑及填充劑熔融混合製成紛體塗料並研究其熱性質,發現同類型之各個樹脂製成之粉體塗料熱性質相似,不因乙二醇與新戊二醇之比的改變或酸價之不同而有所改變,而不同類型樹脂製成之粉體塗料間,熱性質有顯著的差異。利用靜電塗裝製作塗膜之試樣後,分析塗膜之主要物理性質,如硬度、彎曲性、黏著性、耐衝擊性及凹進性等。試驗結果發現兩種類型粉體塗料之塗膜,除了耐衝擊性較差外,其餘性質均可達到一般粉體塗料之要求。然而,在樹脂組成份一樣的情況下,交聯型粉體塗料塗膜的耐衝擊性,較直鏈型者為好。

Neopentyl glycol(NPG)and trimelliticacid(TMA)were used as third componentsto react with ethylene glycol(EG)andterephthalic acid(TPA)to form polyesterresins for powder coating. NPG was added tolower the melting point of resins, and TMAto provide for branching sites. Two types ofresins, namely linear and cross-linked types, were produced by different synthetic methodin laboratory. Experiments were carried outto investigate the thermal and mechanicalproperties of the two types of resins. In addition to meassure their melt indexes,the resins were mixed with curing agent andfiller at 130°C for preparation of coatingpowder. It was found that the thermalproperties of powders from the same type ofresins were similar, but the thermal propertiesof powders of different types of resins weresignificantly different. Test panels of coating powders wereprepared by static-spraying method. Thephysical properties, such as hardness, adhesion, bending, impact resistance andindentation of coated-film were tested. Itwas found that all the physical propertiesexcept impact resistance were commerciallyacceptable. For constant mole ratio betweenNPG and EG, the impact resistance of coated-film from cross-linked resins was better thanthat from linear-type resins.
