The performance of a controlled-cycled stirred-tank reactor (CCTR) is
influenced by dumping fraction δ, charge time t1, batch time t3 and discharge
time t3. Effects of operation parameters on conversion are numerically studied for
isothermal first-and second-order reactions, auto catalytic reaction and exothermic
adiabatic first-order reaction. There exists optimum dumping fraction δ* for
maximum conversion of reactants with autocatalytic reaction and some exothermic
reaction. Valuable guide in the operation of a CCTR is thus obtained. More
interesting results can be obtained when product distribution is considered for
