The molybdenum containing zeolite catalyst was prepared. Cumene cracking
reaction was used as testing reaction to investigated its catalystic activity. Dealkylation
reaction as well as dehydrogenation reaction was detected on the zeolite surface. The
molybdenum increase the activity of zeolite for dealkylation. However, it showed a
non-significant effect on the activity for dehydrogenation at high temperature. The
conclusion drawn from these results is that the hydroxyl groups on zeolite surface might
be the Bronsted acid sites, and the oxygen deficient points coming from dehydroxylation
might be the important parts of the Lewis acid sites. Two kinds of sites intereacts with
