• 英文摘要： Experiments have been performed using a total of 418 fertilized whiteLeghorn eggs to test the effects of copper sulphate on chick embryogenesis.It was found that copper exerted growth-retarding, teratogenic and/orembryocidal influences. The malformations consisted mostly of skeletal，liverand vascular changes with minor defects in other parts of the body.Estradiol at l0,ug level reduced the mortality rate but did not alleviate theteratogenicity. The hemoglobin of the treated embryos was lower thanthat of the control．In the white blood cells there were lymphocytosis andeosinopenia after copper treatment．There were slight decreases in glycogenin the brain, liver ahd muscles. In the heart there was no change and inthe kidney there was a significant decrease in glycogen only in the 120,ugcopper sulphate treated group. Histochemical work is still in progress theresult of which will be reported in the future.
