- 英文摘要: Glycoproteins(gps) contain many carbohydrate epi-topes or crypto-glycotopes for Gal and GaINAc reactivelectins.They are present on the cell surface and functionas receptors in various life processes. Many exist in solu-ble or gel form and serve as biological lubricants or asbarriers against microbial invasion.During the past twodecades, eleven mammalian structural units have beenused to express the binding domain of applied lectins.They are:F, GaINAcα1→3GaINAc; A, GaINAcα1→3Gal;T, Galβ1→3GaINAc; I, Galβ1→3GIcNAc; II, Galβ1→4GIcNAc; B, Galα1→3Gal;E, Galα1→4Gal;L, Galβ1→4GIc; P, GalNAcβ1→3Gal;S, GalNAcβ1→4Gal and Tn,GaINAcα1→Ser(Thr).Except L and P, all of the units canbe found in glycoproteins. Tn, which is an importantmarker for breast/colon cancer and vaccine develop-ment, exists only in O-glycans. Natural Tn gp, the sim-plest mammalian O-glycan,is exclusively expressed inthe armadillo salivary gland.Antifreeze gp is composedof repeating units of T. Pneumococcus type XIV capsularpolysaccharide has uniform II disaccharide as carbohy-drate side chains.Asialo human α1-acid gp and asialofetuin provide multi-antennary II structures. Humanovarian cyst gps, which belong to the complex type ofglycoform,comprise most of the structural units. Tofacilitate the selection of lectins that could serve as struc-tural probes, the carbohydrate binding properties of Gal/GaINAc reactive lectins have been classified according totheir highest affinity for structural units and their bindingprofiles are expressed in decreasing order of reactivity.Hence, the binding relationship between glycoproteinsand Gal/GalNAc specific lectins can be explored.
