- 英文摘要: Mediation of the respiratory reflex effects of an exoge-nous serotonin challenge goes beyond the lung vagi andis suggested to involve the nodose ganglia. In thepresent experiments the effects of an intravenous sero-tonin challenge on breathing pattern were studied in 8pentobarbitone-chloralose anaesthetised cats. Bolus in-jection of serotonin oxalate(50 μg/kg)into the rightfemoral vein evoked prompt apnoea of 19.2(士2.4)-sec-ond duration in all 8 cats while intact; the apnoea wasmuch shorter after midcervical vagal section(8.1士0.9s,p<0.001),and was abolished by supranodose vagoto-my. In post-apnoeic breaths, the tidal volume was re-duced from a baseline of 34.1士4.0 to 13.5士1.1 ml(p<0.001)prior to, and from a baseline of 43.9士5.4 to 33.8士6.6 ml(p<0.01)after midcervical vagotomy; the sero-tonin challenge did not affect tidal volume followingsupranodose vagal section(p=0.4).The increase inrespiratory rate found in intact(p<0.001)and midcervi-cally vagotomised cats(p<0.01)was eliminated by theneurotomy above the nodose ganglia.Supranodose va-gotomy altered cardiovascular response to serotonin byreplacing the fall in blood pressure with an increase. These data suggest that the sequelae of serotonin-induced pulmonary chemoreflex, i.e. respiratory arrest, cardiovascular changes and post-apnoeic pattern ofbreathing require intact nodose ganglia.
