臺灣杉育苗技術改進之研究第一報葉面施肥

臺灣杉為本省固有優良樹種之一,但種子供應困難且初期生長較慢,以致無法迅速實施大面
積造林。本研究之目標在改進臺灣杉育苗之技術,以促進臺灣杉幼苗之生長,並研究無性繁殖之
可行方法,避免生長惰性(Topophysis)之困擾,以節省育苗之時間與經費。
本第一報為臺灣杉幼苗葉面施肥之研究。葉面施肥在農業生產上已佔有重要地位,但在林業
方面的研究?是近年的事。因此本研究先著重實用方面問題之解決:
1.葉面施肥之效果。
2.葉面施肥適用之肥料種類。
3.葉面施肥最適之濃度。
試驗結果重要者有以下幾點:
1.葉面施肥一二次後,苗木不但總重、莖重、根重、莖高、根徑等均有顯著增加(圖一),
而且生長期增長,二月中即有新芽吐放,且經寒流亦未受傷害。
2.尿素濃度0.5%即有效果,1.5%效果最著,2%反而下降,但未見傷害。
3. P肥、K肥與N肥同施,有改進苗木品質之功效。
4.由於施肥關係,苗木生長增快,因此苗木根部在塑膠袋中有盤曲現象,亟宜設法改進
之。

Taiwania is one of the most excellent nativetree species in Taiwan. Owing to scarce avail-ability of seed trees, as well as topophsis, itcan not be propagated satisfactorily in largeamounts by cuttings. This study was aimed atimproving the technique of Taiwania propaga-tion and accelerating the growth of seedlings. The firnd out the efficaciousness of Taiwaniaseedlings by means of foliar fertilization. Foliarfertilization is an important technique for manyagronomic and horticultural crops, and has beenimplemented for many years. But in recentyears few studies were carried out by the useof foliar fertilization on tree seedlings. Thebasic problems of this technique to be solvedare: 1 .How do the Taiwania seedlings res-ponse to foliar fertilization? 2. What are the most suitable fertilizers? 3. What is the best concentration offertilizer? The main results of this study are -sum-marized as follows: 1 .After being sprayed once or twice, theTaiwania seedlings have an significant incrementon the total weight, the weight of root system,the weight and height of stem, and the diameterat the bottom of the stem (Fig. 2). The periodof growth is lengthened. Growth of fertilizedsedlings started in February, the coldest monthin Taiwan,and free from the hurt of low tem-perature. Whereas the monfertilized seedlingsdid not begin to grow until late March. 2. Urea in the concentration of 0.5% wasenough to make a prominent result, 1.5% wasthe most effective, but 2%, on the contrary,hadlesser effects (Fig. 1). 3. If P or K fertilizer was sprayed withurea, the quality of Taiwania seedlings couldbe improved, but without significant effect onthe growth. 4. Because the seedlings grew faster afterfoliar fertilization, the roots coiled in PE bags,How to prevent the coiling of roots should bestudied.
