• 中文摘要： 本文主要目的，是比較臺灣公共與民間部門在「同工不同酬」與「工作機會不均等」這兩項課題上之性別歧視程度。為進行這項研究，本文首先建立一同時考慮「工作與否」和「在公共或私人部門工作」兩項自我選擇條件之內生轉換計量模型，據以估計工資函數：並依循Zweimuller＆Winter-Ebmer (1994)，以具有次序(order)特性之機率模型估計個人獲得不同職業（晉升）的機率，據以判斷兩性勞動力之工作機會是否均等，以進一步離析出兩性工資差異中可歸因於工作機會不均等而造成之歧視比例。我們發現，臺灣男女兩性在薪資與職業結構上的差異，除可歸因於生產力與職業選擇不同等因素外，並無法排除「性別歧視」這項因素；相對於民間部門，公共部門中「同工不同酬」之歧視現象較不嚴重，但因為「工作機會不均等」而造成之歧視現象則較為嚴重。
• 英文摘要： In this study gender wage differentials in private and public sector jobs in Taiwan are calculated. Inparticular, occupational attainment is considered as endogenous by the use of an ordered response model. Ourresults show that wage discrimination is present in both the private and public sectors. Moreover, relative tothe private sector, a higher percentage points of the gender wage differential come from discrimination inprofessional advancement in the public sector.
