甲狀腺切除雌性大白鼠下視丘神經細胞之核容積

觀察甲狀腺切除一週、二週及四週後雌鼠下視丘神經細胞核核容積(簡稱核容積)之改變,發現視前區、視交叉上核、下視丘前區、腹內核、背內核及室旁核的核容積於一週後較假手術對照組有明顯的下降;弓狀核和乳頭體的核容積沒有改變,二週後除背內核外,各神經核核容積都下降,四週後核容積都恢復到假手術對照組的大小。以核容積下降的斜率來看,可將下視丘各核分為二組,視前區、室旁核、下視丘前區和腹內核各一組;視交叉上核、背內核、弓狀核和乳頭體各一組,各組之內沒有差異,各核容積相似的改變可能表示甲狀腺素對下視丘的正常功能,第四週核容積的回升可能是因中樞神經系統在甲狀腺素缺乏的情況下之再適應。

Hypothalamic neuronal nuclear volumes (NV) of female rats, 1, 2 and 4 weeks after thyroidectomy(Tx) were examined. Nuclear volume of the preoptic area (POA), suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), supraop-tic nucleus (SON), anterior hypothalamic area (AHA), ventromedial nucleus (VMN), dorsomedial nucleus(DMN), and paraventricular nucleus (PVN) decreased significantly 1 week after Tx as compared with sham-operated group, while that of arcuate nucleus (ARN) and mammillary nucleus (MN) showed no significantcharge. Two weeks after Tx all but DMN decreased further. After the 4th week all nuclei demonstrateda volume similar to the sham-operation group. Estimated decline slopes of NV indicated non-significantdifferences among POA, PVN, AHA and among SCN, DMN, ARN and MN. The similar profile of NVchanges may indicate the necessity of thyroid hormones to a ndrmal hypothalamic function. The recoveryof NV at the 4th week after Tx may be due to a reconditioning of the CNS in response to thyroid hormonedeficiency.
