- 英文摘要: The presence of a cholinergic vasodilator innervation tocerebral circulation is well established. Despite its highendogenous concentration in cerebral blood vessels, acetylcholine (ACh) is not the transmitter for vasodila-tion. This finding has led to the discovery that nitric oxide(NO), which is coreleased with ACh and neural peptidessuch as vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) from therespective cholinergic-nitrergic (nitric oxidergic) nervesand the VIPergic-nitrergic nerves, is the primary trans-mitter in relaxing smooth muscle. ACh and VIP act pre-synaptically to inhibit and facilitate, respectively, therelease of NO. Release of NO from cerebral vascularendothelial cells is also well established. A similar sys-tem for recycling L-citrulline to L-arginine for synthesiz-ing more NO has been demonstrated in both cerebralperivascular nerves and endothelial cells. Neuronal andendothelial NO appears to play an important role in con-trolling cerebral vascular tone and circulation in healthand disease.
