• 中文摘要： 本文參考呂叔湘等(1980)與鄭良偉等(1989)，針對北京話的“連”與閩南話的“連、
  含、參”探討這些虛詞的意義與用法；包括副詞用法、介詞用法以及限制詞或焦點副詞用
  法。除了比較北京話的“連”與閩南話的“連、含、參”在用法上的異同以外，並討論閩
  南話裡“連、含、參”，在用法上的區別，更從漢語體系的觀點把“連、含、參”的意義與
  用法進一步加以條理化。最後，把英語“連、含、參”的副詞、介詞、限制詞用法與英語
  "even"及日語“?、（?）??、??”等的相對應用法加以比較，並討論從普遍語法與
  對比語言學的觀點來分析漢語方言語法的理論意義與實用價值。

• 英文摘要： The present paper investigates the semantics and syntax of Mandarin“LIAN”and Southern Min“LIAN, HAM, CHHAM”,including their averbial use, prepositional use and additive subjunct use. Ourinvestigation takes as the point of departure the usage of these function words presented in Lu et al (1980)and Cheng et al (1989) and proceeds to a detailed study of“LIAN”. This study extends not only to acomparative analysis of Mandarin and Southern Min“LIAN”, but also to a full discussion of universalquantifiers and universal-scope adverbs in Chinese. Finally, the usage of“LIAN”in Chinese is contrastedwith the corresponding usage of“EVEN”in English and“MO,(DE)SAE, MADE”in Japanese, followedby a brief discussion of the relevance and value of a contrastive analysis based on universal grammar tolanguage teaching.
