Particle scattering through a spherical potential well is treated by three successive procedures to demonstrate the quantum effects. The differential cross section from a geometric treatment as in geometric optics consists of an incoherent sum of components associated with each geometric path, while the geometric-phase treatment gives rise to the coherence among components. By considering Huygens’ principle, the wave treatment as in wave optics brings an additional term to the differential cross section, which corresponds to the Fraunhofer diffraction in optics. - 英文摘要: --
